intends to make multiple awards to procure a new Lightweight
Maintenance Enclosure (LME) Shelter System. The Army is looking for a
quantity of three to nine shelters from 1 to 3 companies capable of
providing a system meeting the Army's minimum performance requirements.
The minimum performance requirements desired for this shelter system
are: the new shelter shall be completely erected in less than 1 hour
with trained soldiers and have minimum interior dimensions of 20 feet
at the base; working height of 13.5 feet; and width of 32 feet. Vehicle
door sized to allow military wheeled and tracked vehicles to enter/exit
from both ends is desired. The shelter shall resist water penetration
and be flame resistant. Shelter shall withstand snow loads of 10
lbs/sq.ft. and steady winds of 55 MPH with gusts to 65 MPH. No material
handling equipment is allowed for transporting, setting up or taking
down the shelter. Shelters require windows, vents, and openings to
allow electrical cable and heating/cooling duct work to pass through
and be sealed off for blackout operations. Shelter shall be supplied
with an electrical distribution system for lights and minimum of six
electrical duplex outlets. The shelter shall also provide a light set
providing 10 food candles of lighting. A commercial operators manual
