TECHNOLOGY DEPLOYMENT CENTER/USER FACILITIES The design, test, and evaluation facilities at Sandia National Laboratories, in New Mexico and California, have each attained DOE approval as Technology Deployment Center/User Facilities and are seeking alliances or consortia with industrial partners. End-to-end services, including test definition, mechanical and electrical design, data acquisition and processing, and expert test engineering and assessment of test results are available for laboratory and field test needs. The test facilities include: Tonopah Test Range for field testing of complete systems, including delivery. Rocket Sled Track. Electromagnetic Test and Analysis. Jet fuel burn and radiant heat. Force and pressure. Rocket-assisted cable guided pull-down. Temperature/humidity/altitude. High vacuum (one-million feet altitude). Vibration. Package drop. Accelerated drop. Specialized high frequency shock test equipment. Centrifuges (large and small) for static acceleration testing. High speed spin (40,000 rpm for items up to 1100 lb). Items containing high explosives may be tested in many of these facilities.
