Z -- BRINE LINE INSTALLATION AND LINING Sol WHB-95-032. Contact Bill Bottomley, Buyer, 504/734-4304. Brine line installation and lining in support of the Department of Energy, Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) Program. The effort will involve the use of subcontractor-furnished labor, material, equipment, tools, supervision, and transportation required to install a high-density, polyethylene liner into the 24-inch Brine Disposal Pipeline, at the West Hackberry SPR Site, in Cameron Parish, Louisiana. This line is currently about 2.5 miles long. The subcontractor will be expected to install the liner into the existing 2.5 mile section. The subcontractor will also install approximately one additional mile of pipe to this line, using new cement-lined pipe across a shallow lake. The work will include road crossing and road repair work, as well as a new, above-ground, cement-lined distribution header on new pipe supports. The work to be performed is best classified under Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 1629, (Heavy Construction, Except Dredging, Not Elsewhere Classified). The magnitude of this requirement is anticipated to be between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. A solicitation is expected to be issued on or about the first of April, 1995.
