National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to
negotiate on a sole source basis with EG&G Instruments/Dilor,
Princeton, New Jersey, for a triple-grating spectrometer consisting of
a double-grating foremonochromator in front of a single-grating
spectrograph, for Roman scattering experiments to investigate optical
properties of materials--Also included is installation, training and a
one year warranty--F.O.B. Destination, Gaithersburg, Maryland--
Required Delivery Time 120 days--This is a sole source requirement
because only EG&G Instruments/Dilor can provide the spectrometer that
meets the Government's specification for a triple-grating spectrometer
with as large a focal length as possible. The 800mm focal length
triple-grating spectrometer by EG&G/Dilor meets this requirement. No
other spectrometer in the market has been found that equals this
