D -- RETROSPECTIVE CONVERSION OF 5000 MONOGRAPHS SOL 52SBNB5C8692 DUE 042895 POC POC: Marsha Rodgers (301) 975-6398 The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for retrospective conversion to machine-readable cataloging of 5000 monographs. Work would be conducted on-site, using government equipment, space, and sign-on authorizations. The project includes cataloging of approximately 500 monographic titles and adding bibliographic records to the LIBRO II database, labeling and barcoding the items, and creating and linking item records to the bibliographic record. The contractor personnel performing the cataloging duties shall be trained and experienced in providing bibliographic records (original and copy cataloging) in English and foreign languages which conform to the USMARC bibliographic formats and AACR2 (rev.) codes. The contractor personnel shall be familiar and experienced using OCLC, LC authority files, online bibliographic databases for searching and inputting. In addition, personnel shall be experienced in updating pre-AACR2 and pre-ISBD cataloging records to full AACR2 standards.
