70 -- FEDERAL INFORMATION PROCESSING EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE POC Contact Ms. Mary Ellen Caldwell, ARL Competition Advocate, (301) 394- 3880. Sources are sought for a contractor to provide computer maintenance to include preventive and remedial maintenance; provide loaner equipment equivalent to equipment that is not repaired within a specified time (10.5 hours); maintain a spares depot with parts at the latest manufacturers' Engineering Change level at stocking levels to ensure 95% parts availability; and provide full-time, on-site maintenance personnel with Top-Secret clearance. This service shall be provided at four geographic locations, Adelphi, MD, Ft. Meade, MD, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, Wilmington, DE with full-time on-site personnel at a maximum of two sites. (Adelphi, MD and APG, MD) Contractor shall provide all personnel, supervision, management, equipment, tools, materials, and all other items and services necessary to perform all preventive maintenance, remedial maintenance, and other activities called for in the contract. All repair personnel shall have formal maintenance training on the equipment covered by this contract. The contractor shall have existing maintenance problem tracking and escalation procedures which bring in higher level repair personnel as needed. Contractor shall provide detailed monthly maintenance reports to enable the Government to plan replacements of frequently failing equipment. Equipment to be covered under this contract shall include, but is not limited to 6000 items consisting of; IBM-compatible PCs, Macintosh computers, notebook computers, laser, ink-jet and impact printers, facsimile machines, computer scanners, computer peripherals (e.g., disks, CD-ROM readers), audio/visual equipment, and telecommunications equipment (e.g., portable telephones). Interested firms must submit two copies of the information requested in Note 25. Since no other information regarding this planned procurement is available for release at this time, telephone requests will not be honored. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for bids or proposals; therefore it is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government will not pay for any effort expended in responding to this synopsis.
