A -- MAGNESE DIOXIDE LITHIUM POUCH CELLS POC Linda Arroyo, (908)544-3676 The ARL Fort Monmouth Site Contracts Branch intends to modify Contract Number DAAL01-94-C-3433 with Power Conversion, Inc., Elmwood Park, NJ to provide for a follow-on effort to be completed by 1 Mar 96 pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). PCI is deemed the only responsible source to complete the critical tasks within the required timeframe. The proposed effort will provide for design, development, and fabrication of 210 each additional cells (for a total of 220 cells) assembled into 110 each (30 each qualification samples and 80 each demonstration samples) two-cell packs to support the Gen II Soldier/21 CLW Tech Demo scheduled for March 96. The deliverable two-cell packs must be capable of delivery up to 18 Watts (4.5 Amperes at 4 Volts) of power for up to 85 Watt-hours (21.25 Ampere-hours) across the entire military operating temperature range (-40 degrees C +55 degrees C). The qualification samples must be submitted to ARL/EPSD by 31 Jan 96 for test and evaluation prior to delivery of the 80 demonstration samples to PM-Gen II Solder/21 CLW on 1 Mar 96.
