Jimmie Ray, Contracting Officer, AMSMI-RD-PC-GX, 205/876- 2644,
Synopsis Number R083-95. The Redstone Technical Test Center (RTTC) is
seeking information from industry regarding capabilities available for
construction of a 5-Axis Flight Motion Simulator (FMS). The FMS will
be used for closed-loop hardware in the loop testing of high resolution
gimbaled seekers and guidance sections. The FMS shall have an
approximate bandwidth of 60 Hz in the roll axis, 30 Hz in the pitch and
yaw axes, and 10 Hz for the outer two target axes. The FMS must have
minimum gimbal travel limits of +/-120 degrees in roll and +/-45
degrees in pitch and yaw. The FMS must perform with a primary load of
approximately 20 pounds, 5 inch diameter, and 24 inches in length. The
FMS must also accept secondary loads of gimbaled seekers and guidance
sections up to 14 inches in diameter, 40 pounds, and 30 inches in
length with a degraded bandwidth (TBD) performance relative to the
primary load. Potential sources should also provide the following
information: 1) Size of company (large or small business) 2) Experience
in producing flight motion simulators. 3) ROM for budgeting and
planning purposes. The information requested is for planning purposes
only and does not constitute a requirement. Interested sources should
