NETHERLANDS: VEHICLES AND VEHICLE COMPONENTS The following notification has been received in Gatt Document TBT/Notification G/95.61 dated 2 March 1995. 1. Member to agreement notifying: Netherlands. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Vehicle order - order in coucil accompanying the Road Traffic Act 1994. Imprt Act, accompanying the Road Traffic Act 1994 (no draft text). 6. Description of content: The Netherlands notified the draft vehicle order in Otification 93.20. By means of this notificatio the Netherlands advised that in the framework o vehicle authorization (Article 3.2.40.1.) and th permanent requirements (Article 5.2.51.Sub-Ection H), vehicles may deviate from the provisions concerned. This anticipates the expected adjustments to Directives 76/756/EEC, concerning installation regulations for lighting units on motorized vehicles, last amended by 91/663/EEC. The deviation permits the presence of a centre high mounted stop lamp for vehicles which are submitted for registration in the Netherlands or which are registered in the Netherlands. 7. Objective and rationale: Order 48, concerning installation regulations for vehicle lighting has been amended by the ECE. This amendment has been in force since 9 February 1994. One of the amendments concerns the installation of a 83 category stop lamp (centre high mounted). As a signatory to this order the Netherlands is obliged to accept vehicles which comply with the amended version of Order 48. In anticipation of an adjustment of Directive 76/756/EEC to bring it in line with ECE Order 48, first revision, the Netherlands will register vehicles and permit their use when a centre high mounted stop lamp is installed. 8.
