Officer, 202-707-8610. The Library of Congress intends to negotiate
with the Sound of Writing to facilitate the purchase of audio rights
for sixty (60) short stories, and the procurement of actors for the
taping of these sixty (60) short stories for broadcast on National
Public Radio's ''The Sound of Writing'' program, which is sponsored and
produced by the Center for the Book of the Library of Congress. In
addition, The Sound of Writing will provide a Producer-Host who is an
acclaimed short story writer and novelist and has been the host of The
Sound of Writing Program since 1988 to solicit and select the stories,
edit them for radio, write and read (on air) introductions and
commentary, and make local appearances on behalf of the program; an
Assistant Producer who will be the central liaison point for the
production team, make phone calls and mail manuscripts and a Director
who will audition and rehearse actors for reading of the stories,
direct the recording of the stories in the NPR studio and provide NPR
with edited scripts for final cuts and packaging. NO SOLICITATION
DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE. No contract award will be made on the basis of
an offer/proposal received in responce to this notice. Interested
parties that can provide all requirements may contact the Contracting
Officer no later than 15 calendar days from the date of this
announcement. The response must be sufficient to permit agency analysis
to establish a bonafide capability to meet the requirements. It is
requested that pricing data information be included as part of the
