Nottingham, 719/554-8820. U.S. Army Space Command (Forward) in Colorado
Springs has a requirement to purchase satellite transceivers and
tracking devices, antennas and user control stations. Incidental
services will include satellite access/airtime, satellite ground
station support, telephonic and on-site support. A requirements type
contract is contemplated which will incorporate requirements for the
balance of FY 95 and provide options to support FY 96 and FY 97. Units
contemplated are as follows: Newcomb Communications, Inc, or equal
models: CP-1 (one way ground transceivers); VT-2 (two way ground
transceivers); AV-1 (one way aviation transceivers); AV-2 (two way
aviation transceivers); SATCOM antennas; GPS antennas; Integrated
SATCOM/GPS antennas; DOS and SUN software; telephone and on-site
support; satellite and ground station access time; transceiver upgrades
for ground models and aviation models; P Code upgrade; and Corvallis,
Inc. or equal models: Hand Held/Palm Top Computers, Model MC5HQD/DOS
with 384K RAM or greater memory; weight less than five pounds;
programmable device capable of emulating a VT-100 terminal using RS-232
interface; alphanumberic keypad/keyboard; backlight on screen;
communications/file transfer software such as Kermit, XMODEM or
PROCOMM; rechargeable battery capable of 6-8 hours of operation; 120
volts AC and 12 volts DC power adapter; and carrying case; nonpersonal
services for on-site service support for installation, testing,
maintenance, mounting hardware; and nonpersonal services for satellite
airtime for aviation and ground. All equipment must be factory
installed. The offeror shall provide a one-year ON-SITE warranty for
the entire system. All of the above listed equipment is on a name brand
or equal basis. The solicitation package will be released on or about
17 March 1995. Only written or faxed requests received directly from
the rquestor are acceptable. This solicitation will be conducted on a
full and open competition basis unless sufficient information is
provided by two or more interested small businesses. Sufficient
information is defined as technical specifications or information that
substantiates the brand name or equal status of the equipment.
Technical information substantiating a potential small business
set-aside must be provided no later than 28 April 1995. SIC Code 3663,
with a size standard of 750 employees, has been selected for this
