68 -- SLURRIES WASTE SIMULANT Sol 294063. POC Fax Inquires to Andrea Fernandez, 509/375-2829. Request interest in providing slurries to simulate Hanford tank wastes. The slurries will be used in technology development efforts for the treatment of the actual tank wastes. We require two waste simulant slurries containing a total of 1400 kg of oxides with an option for an additional order for 5100 kg of oxides. The expected range of oxide loadings in the slurries is between 100 g oxide/L and 250 g oxide/L depending on supplier facilities. We prefer a homogeneous, mixable, and pumpable slurry as concentrated as the supplier can practically produce. The waste simulant slurries will include on an oxide basis the following: A12O3, B2O3, Bi2O3, CaO, CdO, CeO2, C1, Cr2O3, Cs2O, F, Fe2O3, K2O, La2O3, MgO, MnO2, MoO3, Na2O, Nd2O3, NiO, P2O5, PbO2, SO3, SiO2, SrO, WO3, and ZrO2. The waste simulants will include the following anions: NO3-2, NO2-, OH-, CO3-, C2O4-2, and CN-. A Certificate of Analysis will be a required submittal with the slurries. The Pacific Northwest Laboratory (PNL) is operated by Battelle Memorial Institute for the U.S. Department of Energy. PNL intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) on or after 03/31/95. This synopsis is not an RFP. Requests for copies of the solicitation will be honored if received within 20 calendar days after issuance of the RFP.
