MARY CROWSON, (904) 882-8553, Contract Specialist; Contract Officer,
BONNIE J. FITCH. The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC) intends
to solicit competitively for an estimated 500 Unrefurbished Sea
Containers for support of the continuing Research, Development, Test
and Evaluation (RDT&E) of conventional air-to-ground munitions systems
at Eglin AFB FL. It is anticipated that this requirements contract
will be pursued on a full and open competition basis since multiple
sources of supply are known. The purpose of this effort is to ensure
that unrefurbished sea containers are available for short notice RDT&E
testing at Eglin AFB FL annually. Potential sources will be screened
against the product specification and the vendor's ability to meet this
specification. The sea containers are to be 40 feet in length, 8 feet
in width, and 8.5 feet in height. The containers are constructed of
corrugated metal, either steel or aluminum, with reinforced corners and
welded seams. Doors are standard double doors on one end and lockable.
The containers are stackable and have padeyes to facilitate lifting
with crane. The sea containers were initially manufactured to
International Shipping Operation (ISO) standards. The containers will
not have any holes over 6 inches in diameter and must not take away
from the strength of the containers. Dents will not be larger than 12
inches in diameter. Rust is acceptable as long as it does not reduce
the strength and stackability of the containers. Containers must be
used. A one year requirements contract is anticipated with four
one-year options for an estimated quantity of 100 unrefurbished sea
containers each year. Replies to this synopsis should be provided to
AFDTC/PKOS, 205 W. D Avenue, Suite 541, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6862. All

not a small or small disadvantaged business concern as defined in FAR
