No collect calls will be accepted MSE, Inc., under Contract No. DE-AC22-88ID17235 with the U.S. Department of Energy operates the DOE's Western Environmental Technology Office (WETO) in Butte, Montana. MSE, Inc. is soliciting proposals to provide a pilot-scale Electro-thermal Processing System (EPS). The system will be used to perform research and development of the application of thermal treatment to waste materials. These wastes typically include organic materials, inorganic materials, metals, chemicals, and low-level radioactive wastes. Actual waste materials to be tested in the system may include non-contaminated materials, materials containing hazardous or radioactive surrogate additives, and materials contaminated with hazardous agents. The EPS is intended to destroy organic materials by high temperature oxidation or by high temperature pyrolysis. When operated in an oxidizing mode, the EPS is intended to immobilize inorganic materials into a leach resistant, stable, glass/ceramic matrix. An electrically driven technology will be used as the heating method in the process. It is believed that a broad range of methods and technologies can be utilized to accomplish the implementation of the EPS. The selected vendor will be expected to provide a complete EPS to include selected additional components and detailed documentation. Services will include conceptual and detail design presentations and demonstration of compliance with performance and functional specification. To obtain a copy of the RFP write to Charles E.
