at Edwards AFB CA has a requirement to lease a sewer maintenance
vehicle with the option to buy it at a future time. The Government
shall not be obligated to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease.
The vehicle must be capable of cleaning mainline sewers and storm drain
catch basins and removing thick sludge, bricks, broken pipe, rocks, and
leaves up to 30 feet below ground level. The body, finish and fittings
shall be of the latest model, shall not have been used in demonstrator
or other service and shall be factory standard in all respects not in
conflict with the specifications. The vehicle must have a unit capable
of variable water pressure while maintaining full vacuum and air flow.
The chassis shall be as follows: conventional cab (set back type) with
diesel engine full tilting hood, gross vehicle weight rating not less
than 56,000 pounds. The engine shall be turbocharged 275 HP at 2300
RPM minimum or equal. The vehicle shall have automatic transmission,
power steering, full air brakes, two 50 gallon minimum fuel tank with
step. All hydraulic systems shall be direct drive through a single PTO
(belt drive systems are not acceptable). The catch basin system shall
be capable of conveyance of wet, slurry, and submerged materials and
shall have a hose that can clean to a depth of 22 feet below grade
level. The tank body capacity shall be 12 cubic yards. The boom support
mechanism shall be front mounted with hydraulic power up, down and
hydraulic rotation by hydraulic cylinders. The boom shall have
provisions for manual over hydraulic operation. The boom and hose shall
release from the debris tank when dumped to aid in cleaning. The boom
rotation shall be 180 degrees minimum with at least a 16 foot 6 inch
vertical lift and a minimum capacity of 700 pounds. SIC code: 7513.
This requirement is unrestricted. Requests for the solicitation should
be received no later than 10 days after publication. Requests from all
