It is the Government's intent to contract with the Canadian Commercial Corporation for the purchase of three (3) Boeing 707-347C aircraft. These aircraft will be used as input aircraft to the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (Joint STARS) E-8C production program. Grumman Melbourne Systems Division, Melbourne FL, is the Joint STARS prime contractor. These aircraft have or will be declared surplus by the Department of National Defence of Canada and are of the condition and configuration suitable for conversion to E-8C Joint STARS.
