Fernald Environmental Restoration Management Corporation (FERMCO), the Environmental Restoration Management Contractor for the U.S. DOE's Fernald Environmental Management Project (FEMP), is seeking interested Qualified Source(s) to provide super absorbent polymer pads, rolls and granular material specifically designed for use in the nuclear industry. This material(s) will be used to absorb liquids in radiation waste shipment containers. This material shall: 1) Be non-biodegradable. 2) Meet EPA methods 9095 and 9096 (Paint Filter and Liquids Release Tests). 3) Absorb two hundred and fifty (250) times its weight by volume while expanding less than one percent (1%). 4) Contain no crystalline silica (as crystobalite).
