S -- UTILITY/SERVICE CONTRACT FOR THE SUPPLY OF UNINTERRUPTIBLE NATURAL GAS DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM AT FORT MCCOY, WISCONSIN SOL DACA45-95-B-0032 DUE 042895 POC For further information, Contact Jim Opitz at: (402) 221-3173. The intent of the Government is to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Wisconsin Gas Co. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, unless response to this notice reveals additional contractors or vendors capable of satisfying this particular requirement. The contractor is to provide all plant, labor and material necessary to supply and provide additional natural gas service to Fort McCoy, WI. The work consists of a providing a new underground natural gas distribtuion system to the entire cantonment area. The natural gas distribution system shall be connected to the existing 6'' natural gas transmission line located on the north side of Highway 21. Buildings which are currently served with natural gas shall have the new service line connected to the existing natural gas service entrance, pilot lights relit and the heating system put into operation. The contractor shall also be responsible for purchasing and installing all equipment necessary to convert existing facilities operating on Liquid Propane gas to natural gas. Various areas of the cantonment area are presently provided with a natural gas or liquid propane gas system. Existing natural gas and liquid propane gas distribution system piping (except for steel) may be reused and incorporated into the new natural gas system at the option of the contractor. All existing piping which is reused will become the responisbility of the contractor. Existing steel gas piping shall not be used. Responses to this notice will be used to determine whether a bona fide competition exists and whether competitive procurement is appropriate. Interested vendors/contractors must submit documentation, within 30 days of publication of this notice, which demonstrates their capability to meet all local, utility commission, state and federal government requirements. A determination by the Government to have competitive procurement based upon responses to this notice is soley with the discretion of the Government. This synopsis represents the only advertisement which will be published with respect to this procurement action; however, if competitive procurement is determined to be appropriate, responses to this synopsis will be included on the mailing list.
