A -- A -- LOW BAND RF JAMMER REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) POC Contact, Wilma Washington, Phone (703)604-6100 The U.S Navy is in the process of defining requirements for a Low Band Transmitter for use with the EA-6B Prowler aircraft's AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System (TJS). As with existing EA-6B ALQ-99 transmitters, this new transmitter must install in and interface with the current ALQ-99 Pod and be fully integrated with the ALQ-99 TJS. To support effective, long range jamming, the transmitter must perform the functions of accepting low level Band A/B Radio Frequency (RF) signals from the ALQ-99 Pod Exciter, amplifying signals to a high power level, and effectively radiating signals through its antennae. For planning purposes, a development effort is projected to begin in 1996, followed by a production effort beginning in late 1998. The Navy envisions the purchase of 7 Engineering Development Models during the development effort, followed by the purchase of approximately 130 transmitters during production. Interested sources may contact, by mail, Contracting Officer, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), AIR 2.2.1.2 Ms. Wilma Washington, 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA 22243-5120 and request an RFI package and an accompanying classified (CONFIDENTIAL) supplement; interested sources who wish to deliver a written request in person or by commercial courier should use the following address: Contracting Officer, Naval Air Systems Command, AIR 2.2.1.2, Ms. W. Washington, 1411 Jefferson Davis Highway, Jefferson Plaza #1, Room 146, Arlington, VA 22202. Appointments must be made to obtain the RFI package for hand carry by calling (703) 604-6100 extension 3593. Information concerning the designated courier, may be sent via facsimile to the NAVAIR Visitor Control Office (703-604-4052(fax)). Interested sources are invited to review the RFI and provide responses regarding the feasibility of potential transmitter requirements. Responses to the RFI must be received not later than 12 May '95. Sources will not be reimbursed for providing responses; therefore, the Navy will accept them in whatever form they exist.
