Myers at (404)842-6791 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) requires contractual assistance in executing Project BEGIN (Bringing Early Growth and Development IntoNeighborhoods). Project BEGIN is planned as a multisite randomized controlled effectiveness study of a child/family/community intervention. It is contemplatedthat multiple awards covering geographically, racially, ethnically and organizationally diverse program sites will be selected for award under this solicitation. Each program site will have a geographically defined catchment area from which study participants will be drawn. These participants will then be enrolled in one of three annual birth cohorts and separated into interventionor comparison study arms. Offerors must be capable of providing early intervention services as well as being able to strictly adhere to the exacting research protocols and data collection requirements developed by the Government.The estimated period of performance is twelve (12) months to cover concept developments in addition to options to be exercised unilaterally by the Government which may extend performance over an eight (8) year period.
