D -- RECOVERY OF ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION RECORDS SOL EOPOA-95-03 DUE 050995 POC Contract Specialist, LYNNAE ROSCOE, 202-395-3314 The Executive Office of the President, Office of Administration, intends to award a contract for the recovery of electronic communication records stored in a collection of approximately 10,000 backup tapes. The records were generated by Digital Equipment Corporation's (DEC) All-In- One system software, version 2.3 and version 3.0. The VAX Hardware used includes two configurations: (1) a host consisting of a four node cluster (two 6410, one 6510, one 6420); two TA-90-E cartridge tape drives; two TA-81 reel tape drives; two HSC-70 disk controllers; and (2) a host consisting of a four node cluster (two 7610, one 6510, and one 6410); two TA-90-E cartridge tape drives; two TA-81 reel tape drives, two HSC-70 disk controllers. Two versions of VMS were used: DEC VMS Version 5.5-1 and DEC VMS 5.5-2. The contractor will be responsible for providing a system configuration of both hardware and software capable of processing the backup tapes. NO EQUIPMENT, SOFTWARE, OR FACILITIES WILL BE PROVIDED BY THE GOVERNMENT. The contractor will convert recovered records into a format and media type prescribed by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
