20310-5200 70 -- FIPS MAINTENANCE POC Contract Specialist Leona M. Brown Defense
Supply Service Washington, on behalf of HQ Army Material Command
(HQAMC), intends to acquire maintenance services and supplies from
Pyramid Technology Corporation for support of two Pyramid Minicomputer
Systems. The two systems (ID# 5784 and ID# 5777) are located in the HQ
AMC central computer facility in Alexandria, Virginia. The maintenance
will be for the MIS-4T hardware and software and 98X System hardware
and software and one (1) 3500-G XWINDOWS for MIS-4T. Prospective
offerors must be able to perform maintenance and upgrades in accordance
to Pyramid's and HQ AMC's environmental specifications. The Government
requires object code compatibility with its current OSx Operating
System. The Government may require prospective offerors to participate
in an Operational Demonstration Test (ODT). The test(s) shall
demonstrate all required and contractor-proposed systems maintained and
their capabilities. The contractor shall be prepared to provide the ODT
within seven (7) days after notification by the Government of the
requirement for an ODT. This is a notification of intent to procure on
a sole source basis. No solicitation document exists. Requests for
same will be considered non-responsive. Any firm wishing to be
considered must respond within 45 days from this advertisement
providing clear and convincing documentation that is advantageous to
the Government that they be considered. Responses to this notice must
be received in writing (include telephone number for a point of
contact) to Defense Supply Service Washington. Firms must respond to
all requirements. No telephonic or facsimile inquiries will be accepted
or considered. If no affirmative written response is received to the
effect that a comparable source is available, the services will be
acquired from Pyramid Technology. If a response is received that meets
the Government's requirements, and analysis of both technical and
pricing documentation indicate that a competitive acquisition would be
more advantageous to the Government, than a formal solicitation may be
issued. (0087) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0455 19950329\70-0004.SOL)
