Scope of Work: To abate 92,500 sq ft of asbestos containing floor tile ad mastic in the workroom floor and docks. The abatement is to be done by the ``infrared heat'' removal method. The infrared heat method of floor tile abatement involves placing a radiant heat source on the tiles. The mastic is to be removed by conventional methods using a low odor remover. As the mail processing operations on the workroom floor and platform are continuous 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, the maximum amount of floor area that will be available to the contractor at any time is 10,000 sq ft and the minimum floor area is 3,000 sq ft. Offerors must have a minimum of five years experience as an asbestos abatement contractor and primarily engaged in this line of work, and who, in addition shall have satisfactorily completed at least three prior projects comparable in size and scope to the work required by this solicitation utilizing the infrared heat removal method. The estimated price range is between $150,000.00 and $180,000.00 with completion required within 150 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed.
