68 -- STANDARD REFERENCE MATERIAL (SRM) GASES SOL 52SBNB5C8690 DUE 042895 POC Barbara Camp (CS) (301) 975-6339, Ruth Maris The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to provide compressed gases as Standard Reference Materials (SRMs). The requested materials are required for the orderly restock of NIST's gas SRMs. Nearly 93 different gas SRMs are provided to industry and other government agencies in the U.S and throughout the world through the Standard Reference Materials Program. These gas SRMs are primarily intended for the calibration of instruments and the evaluation of methods used for determination of harmful constituents in mobile source emissions or emissions from industrial processes. Compressed gas mixtures are to be provided and certified as to purity and concentration levels. The gas mixtures to be supplied under this contract are intended for use as primary gas Standard Reference Materials (SRMs). The gases required represent a base year and one (1) option year. They are: 1) Propane in air (quantity, 255 cylinders); 2) Sulfur dioxide in nitrogen (quantity, 260 cylinders); 3) Carbon monoxide in air (quantity, 51 cylinders); 4) Carbon dioxidein nitrogen (quantity, 102 cylinders); 5) Carbon monoxide in nitrogen (quantity, 408 cylinders); 6) Nitric oxide in nitrogen (quantity, 255 cylinders); 7) Oxides of nitrogen in air (quantity, 102 cylinders); 8) Propane in nitrogen (quantity, 205 cylinders). High quality starting materials should be used and the greatest possible care is required in the preparation and analysis of these mixtures to ensure that the purity, composition, and stability are to NIST specifications. The delivery of gases will begin two weeks after date of contract award, with a delivery schedule set up in section F of the solicitation for continuous stock of assorted gases.
