A -- RESEARCH AND SERVICE ASSISTANCE FOR THE NIST LOW BACKGROUND INFRARED RADIOMETRY FACILITY SOL 52SBNB5C8670 DUE 051595 POC Stacy Bostjanick (301) 974-6337; Contracting Officer: Ruth Ann Maris The National Institute of Standards and Technology intends to negotiate and procure on a competitive basis, research and service assistance at NIST Low Background Infrared Radiometry (LBIR) Facility. This Research shall be in the areas of: Integration and characterization of the spectral capability, building Laser Diode source to operate at cryogenic temperatures, building an upgrade to the present Absolute Cryogenic Radiometer (ACRII), maintenance and operation of LBIR high vacuum and cryogenic systems, building the hardware and programming to remote control translation stages for sources, detectors, and the spectral instrumentation in the cryogenic chambers. Resultant of the research and service assistance in the above described areas the contractor will be expected to provide Quarterly reports, co-author publications with NIST staff and provide talks on this subject matter at conferences. This contract will include one Option Year.
