OVERSEAS'' POC: Durie White 703-875-6825. The Department of State,
Bureau of Administration, proposes to host a one-day seminar, ``How to
Do Business with the Department of State's U.S. Missions Overseas''
for U.S. firms, including small, minority, and woman-owned firms, which
are interested in the ``small purchases'' market at the 250+ U.S.
embassies/consulates worldwide. The seminar would take place in
Arlington, Virginia on a date in mid-October, 1995 to be determined.
The Department of State purchases an aray of goods in support of our
American embassies/consulates abroad, including, but not limited to:
office supplies, computer peripherals and ancillary equipment; office
furniture/furnishings; carpeting; appliances (for operation on overseas
currents); motor vehicle replacement parts; medical supplies;
representational items (i.e., engraved pens, pencils, etc). In
addition, the Department operates Employee Associations at many U.S.
posts overseas. Employee associations are non-appropriated independent
businesses that have been established at U.S. missions worldwide with
the purpose of making life easier for U.S. foreign service personnel.
Employee associations offer their members-the U.S. mission
community-wide variety of services including: commissaries, gift shops,
restaurants/bars, snack shops, video clubs, swimming pools, tennis
courts, child care facilities, and others. Procurement is handled at
the local level with each employee association choosing its own
vendors. Any U.S. firm, including but not limited to small, minority
and woman-owned firms, which has a product fitting the foregoing
procurement profile and which is interested in attending the proposed
October, 1995 ``How To'' seminar should send expressions of interest

company name, address and point of contact. Expressions of interest
should be received not later than 45 days from the date of publication
