The work includes installing a new oily wastewater collection piping system along the piers, buried underground, under crane tracks and railroad tracks, and dry docks to carry the wastewater from the ships to new Government furnished Contractor installed oil-water separators and waste water storage tanks. The collection piping system will run on top of and under the piers and along the walls and in the utility galleries of the dry docks. Multiple valved ship connection stations along the piers and dry docks shall be installed. The discharge of these separators shall be connected to the existing sanitary waste and system with new pipe. The separator units shall require compressed air, water, and electrical services. Work also includes testing and disposal of hazardous soil that is excavated and incidental related work. During performance of this work, asbestos, hazardous waste, or pollution abatement may be encountered. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 24 April 1995 at no charge until supply is exhausted. Contract completion time is 330 calendar days. Estimated cost range is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. Solicitation packages may be acquired in person from Plan Issue or by mail. Telephone requests will not be accepted.
