74 -- 4-TRACK RECORDERS POC Regina Dulaney tel: (410) 965-9508 CNT NONE The Social Security Administration (SSA) knows of only one company (the manufacturer, SONY) that produces a portable 4-track, 4-channel recording system which uses standard cassettes for up to 3 hours of recording with accessories that weigh less than 24 pounds total weight. SSA knows that dealers can supply the 4-track recorders or accessories but does not have the knowledge of any companies that can supply other portable units weighing less than SONY'S 4- Track Recording Systems. Quantities listed below are estimated and subject to change. Recorders and accessories required are: SONY BM-246 4-Track Recorder (223 Each); Microphones (Low Profile) UNI-Directional, 3 per recorder with stands (669) each; OMNI-Directional, 1 Each per recorder with stand, frequency response of 50-17,000 HZ sensitivity of -51.5 DB (Dynamic Power (223 Each); Microphone Cables, balanced with Cannon connectors, 30 ft. in length, 4 per recorder, (892 Each); Headset, Binaural, (223 Each); and carrying case, compact, foam padded with handled grip and shoulder strap and capacity to hold recorder and all accessories in a single case, 1 each per recorder (223 total). Anticipated supplies shall be delivered to the SSA at various locations throughout the United States. Companies having the required capabilities are invited to submit information (an original and one copy) discussing such capabilities. Any interested organizations must respond within 15 days of this announcement. The information respondents provide shall pertain to the synopsis only. No cost and pricing data is required nor requested at this time. This is not a Request For Proposal and no solicitation is being issued at this time. The Government does not intend to pay for the information solicited or received. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the source data received.
