Demolish and remove existing cooling tower; install new 90-ton air reciprocating chillers (2) on roof. Insulate existing 6'' condensing, supply, and return lines for new chill water. Conversion of existing condenser pumps for new service of chill water. Provide and install a 3-1/2 ton split system for Room 222 at the Downtown Station, Waco, TX 76703-9998 in accordance with plans and specifications. Portion of work to be done on weekends includes the removal of the roof mounted water chiller. Some work shall be coordinated with the continuous court proceedings. Direct digital controls will be part of the work including but not limited to unit pricing for existing duct clean reflected in this solicitation. Contractor must submit Unit Price Schedule, HVAC and Mechanical, as listed in solicitation. Estimated cost range $215,000 - $230,000 and construction time is 60 calendar days. A 20% proposal bond is required. The successful contractor will be required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business initially and therafter with their progress payments. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. All interested contractors are encouraged to attend a preproposal conference scheduled for April 12, 1995 at 10:00 am at the Downtown Station in Waco, TX. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on May 2, 1995. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is made and the request is submitted in writng. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available on March 29, 1995 at a cost $25.00 per set (NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only.
