The project consists of furnishing manpower, materials, and equipment necessary to demolish an existing steel-framed canopy and wood dock, with associated paving along the entire front of the dock. The new dock will be 108 feet long with an offer alternate for an additional 48 feet. The 30-foot wide dock is divided into two sections--one segment at the same elevation as the buildings workroom floor. The lower dock is one foot lower and will contain three scissors lifts plus a dock leveler. The entire dock is covered by a steel-framed, metal-roofed canopy. The paving area, of 8-inch thick reinforced concrete, is approximately 60 feet wide by 111 feet long. Selection of the alternate would extend the length an additional 51-1/2 feet. Associated project work includes an office, siding at the dock ends, dock bumpers, lighting, relocation of CCTV cameras, sectional overhead doors, etc. The Postal Service does not plan to have a formalized preproposal conference/walk through.
