66 -- X-Y POSITIONER SOL F08651-95-B-0076 DUE 042095 POC Bonnie Hochmuth, Contract Specialist, (904) 882-5169 Bonnie J. Fitch, Contracting Officer. The Air Force Development and Test Center (AFDTC) intends to solicit competitively for a four axis of freedom X-Y positioning system. the linear X-axis will require a minimum of 192 in of travel, 12 in/sec/sec linear acceleration, 53 in/sec linear velocity and .1 in linear position accuracy. The linear Y-axis will require a minimum of 144 in of travel, 12 in/sec/sec linear acceleration, 53 in/sec linear velocity, and .1 in linear position accuracy. The Y-axis will be required to carry two angular positioning devices providing up and down and left and right angular positioning. The two angular positioning devices will require a minimum of 100 rev/sec angular velocity, +-5 arc minute accuracy and 300 in-lb of torque. The final positioning stage when connected with the X-Y axis will be required to carry an attached 8 in by 8 in 70 lb load at all maximum velocities and accelerations. The Y-axis will require a cable track and both X-Y axis will require end of travel and home switches. The four axes will be controlled individually by +-10 volt analog voltages. The + 10 analog voltage corresponds to one extreme of the X, Y and angular movements, the -10 analog voltage corresponds to the opposite extreme of movement, 0 analog volts corresponds to the center position of all movements and incremental changes between +-10 analog volts will represent incremental linear movement on all axis. The positioner shall not require non-recurring engineering and will be contructed of off-the-shelf products. The following items listed will be required to meet the Government requirement to provide dynamic angular motion simulation of target aircraft scenarios of the Pre-Flight Integration of Munitions and Electronics Systems (PRIMES) facility to meet enhanced test capabilities and customer needs. Required quantity is two (2) each. Items required: horizontal four axis X-Y positioning board, four axis controller (eight axis for two positioners), 100 foot cable from controller to positioner. Required delivery is 5 Jul 95. Technical questions may be directed to Roshelle B. Orgusaar, (904) 882-9354, ext 224. Replies to this synopsis should be provided to AFDTC/PKOS, 205 W. D Avenue, Suite 541, Eglin AFB FL 32542-6862. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered. (No contract award will be made on the basis of bids/proposals received in response to this synopsis.) Firms responding to this solicitation should reference F08651-95-B-0076 and indicate whether they are or are not a small or small disadvantaged business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1 and 52.219-2 and whether they are a manufacturer or dealer/distributor. The Air Force reserves the right to consider a small business set-aside based on responses hereto. Requests for copies of this solicitation must be in writing or fax (904) 882-9442. Telephone requests will not be honored. (0090)
