Design Research and Technology Maturation Research for Inlet Duct,
Edges, and Front Frame (IDEFF) Signature Reduction, SOL JAST 95-2. The
purpose of this synopsis is to announce the Joint Strike Technology
(JAST) Program Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) 95-2. Proposals are due
by 1200 hours, Eastern Standard Time, 19 May 1995, addressed to the
Naval Air Systems Command, 1421 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA
22243, Jefferson Plaza 1, Room 136, to the attention of Mr. Patrick
McLaughlin, Contracting Officer. Introduction: The JAST Program Office,
Washington, D.C. is soliciting proposals (technical and cost) on the
research efforts summarized below. A BAA Information Package provides
detailed information on the objectives of the BAA, deliverables, and
proposal preparation and submission requirements. Interested companies
who would like to receive the BAA Information Package, may contact CDR

package will be provided on 3.5 inch disk in Microsoft Word 6.0 for
Windows, by mail or it may be picked-up at the JAST Program Office.
Only one copy will be provided per contractor. BAA requirements. 1)
Technical Description: The purpose of this BAA will be to obtain design
research and technology maturation research for affordable, producible,
durable, supportable, frontal sector signature reduction concepts and
technology demonstrations that will reduce the risk of airframe
integration during the EM&D program. The IDEFF Program will be
conducted in two phases. Phase I will address signature reduction
concept definition/ validation and development of an outline for the
demonstration program to be performed in Phase II. Phase II of the
IDEFF Program will be the full scale demonstration for concept risk
reduction. Phase II of the IDEFF Program will be contracted for via a
request for proposal. 2) Anticipated Period of Performance: Total
length of the technical effort for Phase I of the IDEFF Program is
estimated to be 22 months after award. 3) Expected award date: 30 June
1995. 4) Multiple contracts may be awarded; total funding available is
$10 million. 5) Type of contracts anticipated: Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee
