The vessel to be acquired is a twin-screw, diesel powered Motortender with welded steel hull and deckhouse. The Towboat will operate on the Tennessee/Tombigbee River Systems and will provide towing and tender service for lock and dam maintenance and dredging equipment. The vessel is approximately 2,400 hp and has an 85 foot length, 30 foot beam, and 10 foot molded depth. The vessel includes a jack-up pilothouse, crew's quarters, and a galley. Tests and Trials will be required. The contract is a ``Design and Build'' type based upon as ``As-Built'' Design. The contract utilizes the MDC three phase contracting process. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) will be available on or about 28 April 1995. Specifications and Full Size Drawings will be furnished at a charge of $35.00 per set. All checks are to be drawn to ``FAO, USAED, Norfolk'' and must include your Federal Tax Identification Number. Payment will not be returned and specifications need not be returned.
