The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake, CA, 93555-6001, plans to drill one (1) geothermal temperature gradient core hole to an estimated depth of 3,000 feet. The test core hole will be located at the Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS), China Lake, CA. This test core hole will be used by the Navy's Geothermal Program Office in its resource potential investigations of the NAWS Mainside area. The requirement consists of mobilization; site preparation; drilling, casing, cementing, tubing, and completing the core hole; demobilization; site restoration; providing core samples, reports, and geophysical logs; and a provision to cover conditions such as lost circulation, angle deviation, standby time, acts of God, test hole stimulation, and geophysical logging. Blow-out prevention equipment will be required. Subcontractors used for logging will be required to submit copies of their Federal and State Licenses. This project is estimated to take 40 days to complete, and the estimated starting date is August 1995. Proposals are being requested on a fixed price basis to include all mobilization, equipment, supplies and material, and labor and supervision. Specifications will be provided in the solicitation. A site visit for prospective offerors is planned, with particulars to be provided in the solicitation. The solicitation will be released on or about May 1995 and will close 45 days thereafter.
