83415-3521 A -- HIGH PRESSURE/HIGH TEMPERATURE PROCESS DEMINERALIZED WATER HEATER
Contact T. D. Christensen. Lockheed Idaho Technologies Company (LITCO),
a Management and Operating Contractor for the Department of Energy
(DOE) at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL), is seeking
an expression of interest for the design and fabrication of a high
pressure (5,000/psi) and high temperature (1,150 deg F) process heater
that will be used to elevate the temperature of demineralized water.
The heater is an integral part of a Hydrothermal Oxidation Test Bed
that is planned to be built at the INEL. The heater will be fabricated
from a material to be selected by the subcontractor and fabricated in
accordance with ANSI B31.3. The subcontractor shall select electrical
heaters to raise the temperature of the demineralized water from
between ambient to 1,150 deg F. The flowrate of water through the
heater will vary from 0 to 55 gph. The subcontractor shall also furnish
necessary heater insulation for heat retention and personnel
protection. The subcontractor will be responsible to perform all
design, fabrication, inspection, testing, cleaning, packaging, and
transportation of the heater to the INEL. Respondents shall have a
minimum of 3 years experience in the design and fabrication of process
heaters, piping systems, or ASME code vessels. Respondents should send
