The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contemplates awarding
multiple contracts to determine trends in the incidence and
epidemiology of acute hepatitis A, B, C, and other non-A, non-B (NANB)
hepatitis; to assess missed opportunities for prevention; and to
evaluate the effect of programs to prevent perinatal transmission of
hepatitis B virus infection. To be eligible, the offeror's project site
MUST (a) have a census of 450,000 to 950,000, (b) average 75-100 cases
of viral hepatitis per year from 1989 through 1994, and (c) have
serologic testing for hepatitis A and B markers and epidemiologic data
on at least 75 percent of cases annually from 1989 through 1994. The
scheduled issue date is approximately April 14, 1995. NO TELEPHONE
