The project involves repair of damage caused by a fire on the third floor of a dormitory building and structural repair to the roof framing at the Shreveport Job Corps Center located in Shreveport, Louisiana. Also included is replacement of approximately 21,000 square feet of ceilings with drywall and acoustical tile, replacement of the electrical, mechanical, and fire alarm systems, and roof repair work. The work also includes the extension of walls to the underside of the structure above to provide fire rated wall assemblies, window replacement, new floor finishes and painting. General clean-up from the fire is also part of this work. Construction time is scheduled for 112 calendar days to substantial completion. The estimated cost range of construction is from $250,000 to $500,000. All request must be in writing and a $100.00 bid deposit is required which is refundable when plans and specifications are returned in good condition. Bid deposits must be in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Department of Labor and submitted to the A/E firm at the time of the request. Requests will be answered on a first come, first serve basis until the supply is exhausted. For request made after the supply is exhausted, the Contracting Officer may determine whether payment of a fee is warranted. The non-refundable fee shall not exceed the actual cost of duplication of the IFB documents, plus COD charges. A Pre-bid walk thru is scheduled for April 21, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
