Z -- NSLS LABORATORY/OFFICE RENOVATION Contact: J.E. Teahan, Contracts Administrator, 516-282-3140. This contract will be set aside for bidding by small businesses only. SIC code 1542 applies. Work consists of the renovation of an existing 4,500 SF open space to create three new laboratories, two storage areas and six office spaces. Work also includes enclosing a mechanical room with interior gyp board partitions on metal studs. All laboratories require laboratory furniture including fume hoods. Office spaces have suspended acoustical tile ceilings. HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems will be installed throughout. Electrical requirements are for power and lighting, telecommunications and fire alarms. All work will be awarded on a single contract. Estimated construction cost is $250,000 to $500,000. Estimated construction time is 12 weeks. Bid documents will be available on or about May 1, 1995. A 20% bid bond is required. Payment and performance bonds are required after contract award. Brookhaven is charging a non-refundable fee of $30 for bid documents. Personal checks made out to ``Brookhaven National Laboratory'' are acceptable. Checks may be sent immediately and bid packages will be mailed upon availability. Requests for bid packages received without proper payment will not be acknowledged. (093)
