Pitts, Contracting Officer, at (301) 344-3786 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) intends to purchase, for its' National Agricultural Library (NAL), eleven remanufactured Sun Microsystems SPARCstation 2 workstations. These workstations must be remanufactured using processes certified to ISO-9002 standards and compliant with current Sun Microsystems applicable hardware revision levels and quality controls. All Sun Microsystems SPARCstation 2 systems and Sun Microsystems peripherals must be eligible for Sun Microsystems maintenance and include a Sun Microsystems Solaris 1.1.1 or newer operating system right to use license. The system must include the following internal configuration items (items marked ''NEW'' must be new and not remanufactured): Turbo GX Color Graphics Accelerator; 32 Megabytes Sun Memory; NEW-Sun Microsystems-1.05 Gigabyte Internal Disk Drive; SUN OS-4.1.3-U1 Loaded; NEW-1.44 Megabyte Sun Microsystems 3.5'' Internal Floppy; NEW-Sun Microsystems N.A.C. Kit-(Keyboard, Mouse & Pad) System to include Sun Microsystems Solaris 1.1.1 right-to-use; NEW-365-1316 Sun Microsystems 17'' Sun Hi-Res. Color Monitor including Sun Monitor Cable; NEW-SX-21-1.1.1:Solaris 1.1.1 media on CD-ROM (Operating System Pre-loaded prior to delivery); NEW-2.3GB 4mm External Tape Subsystem including scsi2-scsi2 cable; NEW-X558 external Sun Microsystems CD-ROM Subsystem including scsi2-scsi2 cable and external active terminator. Further, shipment must be provided to a separate location within the continental United States for each of the eleven systems. In addition, a one year advance replacement warranty is required for all items, with the following terms: Advance replacement shipped freight pre-paid within 24 hours of failure notification with components which will maintain eligibility for Sun Microsystems contract maintenance in any instance where the original item being replaced is eligible. All interested offerors must submit a technical capability statement. Written responses must be received in this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but responses will be evaluated to determine if comparable sources more advantageous to the Government are available. If no affirmative written responses are received, a sole source procurement with Workstation Technologies, Inc. will be made. (0095)
