66 -- UPGRADE FOR AN EXISTING GOVERNMENT OWNED CONFOCAL MICROSCOPE SOL 263-95-P(BC)-0116 POC Sheri Lawson, Contracting Officer, 301/402-3065. Under Authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to procure from Bio-Rad Laboratories, Life Science Group, 2000 Alfred Nobel Drive, Hercules, CA 94547 an Upgrade for a Government owned Confocal Microscope which shall have the following salient characteristics; (1) computer control of motorized filter wheels; excitation, emission and neutral density; (2) computer control of PMT gain and black level; (3) computer control of macros size (versus pinhole) aperature for each channel; (4) three fluorescent collection channels, one external transmission imaging channel; (5) all the programmability of the system settings, which can be sotred and later retrieved; (6) have pre-programmed settings for imaging individual dyes and dye combinations; (7) each channel shall have independent electronics which shall eliminate crosstalk between channels; and (8) shall accommodate switching from upright to inverted microscopes. It is the Government's belief that these requirements can only be met by Bio-Rad. This is not a formal solicitation. However, concerns that respond to this notice must furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above, shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform.
