Description of content: The primary aspects of this amendment are to: (I) Incorporate the poutry grade standards into the livestock carcass grading regulations and rename the regulations to the livestock and poultry carcass grading regulations: (II) Provide for a fully voluntary poultry carcass grading system by eliminating the current mandatory grading requirements for the interprovincial. Import or export movements of poultry carcasses: (III) Retain only the Canada A, Canada Utility and Canada C grade names with slight modifications to the grade standards: (IV) Allow opaque packaging for graded or ungraded poultry: (V) Maintain departmental authority to collect poultry market statistics from federally and provincially registered establishments: (VI) Introduce a beneficiary pay system to registered establishments wishing to apply Canada grade names to poultry carcasses in order to support the grade monitoring service provided by the department. 7.
