COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 10,1995 PSA#1321INFORMATION BRIEFING TO INDUSTRY ON ADVANCED CONCEPTS FOR SURVEILLANCE
POC M. Sheehan, 315-330-4484. The Directorate of Surveillance and
Photonics in the Air Force Rome Laboratory is presenting a briefing to
industry at 1000 hours on 27 April 95 in the Main Auditorium at 26
Electronic Parkway, Griffiss AFB New York, on concepts for enhancing
long range detection of advance targets. In one approach to
accomplishing modern wide area surveillance mission requirements, a
concept in which a high flying unmanned airborne platform incorporating
a large receive only array, signal/data processing and
telecommunications equipment, is deployed over the battle area. This
sensor utilizes the illumination from ground based and airborne wide
area surveillance and tracks radars deployed over friendly territory in
the vicinity of the (potential) battle area, to detect and track
hostile and friendly targets throughout the field of view. The
presentation will include a detailed description of this and other
advanced concepts, technical requirements, potential programs,
theoretical analysis and experimental results to date. Rome Laboratory
is also interested in alternative approaches for achieving affordable
enhanced long range detection of advance targets. A secret clearance
is required to attend this briefing. Interested parties should send a
visit request to RL/OC-1 SECURITY (RE: 27 April 95 BASS Briefing), 26
