The Maritime Administration intends to contract for the renovation of
the electrical services for 90 ships located at the Suisun Bay Reserve
Fleet (SBRF), Benecia California. The ships are supplied ELECTRICAL
service from Pacific Gas and Electric. This work pertains to the ships
which are arranged in six (6) rows. The scope of work includes
providing materials, building platforms, running cable, connecting the
system, proving operation, and the removal of the old system. The
present electrical system is not to be disturbed while work is
commencing. Minimal downtown is to be experienced during the change to
the new system. The construction estimate ranges between $1,000,000
and $2,000,000. The Standard Industrial Classification code for this
service is 1731. Specifications will be available from this office for
a fee of $200.00. All checks should be made payable to the U.S.
Department of Transportation/Maritime Administration. The issuance of
the IFB will be on or about May 15, 1995. The projected bid opening
date is 60 days from the release date of the solicitation. The proposed
solicitation is not set aside for small business concerns. All
