16 -- LOGISTIC SUPPORT FOR THE PIONEER RPV POC Contact, Frank Fisher, Phone (703)604-0903 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a fixed price contract, on a sole source basis, to Pioneer UAV, Inc. (PUI), 9 Schilling Road, Hunt Valley, MD 21030 for Logistic Support for the Pioneer Remotely Piloted Vehicle (RPV). The contract will cover logistic support for the Pioneer RPV for fiscal year 1996 with an option for fiscal year 1997. The logistic support will consist of Contractor field service representatives providing engineering assistance and hands-on technical support, on-site, to Pioneer RPV units of the U. S. Army, U. S. Marine Corps, U. S. Navy, and the DOD UAV Training Center. This support will also be provided while the Pioneer units are on deployment. PUI will also provide in-plant and/or on-site engineering services and in-plant supply support for the Pioneer RPV. The Government does not own the data/drawing package for the Pioneer RPV and therefore is unable to competitively procure the Pioneer logistic support. Pioneer UAV, Inc. is the sole supplier of the Pioneer RPV and is the only source with the knowledge and capability to provide the logistic support in the time frame required.
