Martin Marietta Energy Systems, Inc., (the Company) acting under Contrat No. DE-AC05-84OR21400 issued by the United States Department of Energy (DOE), operates the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. ORNL is soliciting industrial partner(s) in the field of Plasma Source Ion Implantation (PSII). ORNL is developing a high energy PSII system (HEPSII) for use in deep single pass ion implantation of complex shaped objects. The industrial partner(s) shall assist ORNL with the development and testing of the HEPSII; shall engineer the HEPSII to a production level; and, shall establish a manufacturing capability for at least 10 units per year for the HEPSII. Industrial partner(s) are being sought who are interested in entering into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement or other licensing arrangements. Any industrial organization interested in pursuing this opportunity or in receiving more information should respond with a brief statement of interest (not more than 6 pages) describing the organization's technical expertise in the development of ion implantation equipment and previous technology transfer experience. The statement of interest must be dated within 330 days from the date of this notice. A potential partner workship presenting the HEPSII device and the commercialization mechanisms available may be held dependent on the number of responses.
