NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ5-06006/023) in support of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Project for the installation of LAN twisted-pair cabling in building 8 at the GSFC, Greenbelt, MD. This installation project is a complete replacement of the current 10base2 (ThinNet) Cable Plant with a new 10baseT (Twisted Pair) Cable Plant using category 5 cable. All equipment, parts and supplies, manufactured by a reputable company that is well-known in the industry. All offerors will be evaluated on price and price related factors and relevant past performance in similar cabling installation efforts as to scope and magnitude. Price factors and relevant past performance will be of essentially equal importance and selection will ultimately be based on the most advantageous offer to the Government. As a result of this solicitation, a purchase order is expected to be awarded in May 1995. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)19.502-1 this is a small business set-aside.
