70 -- POINT-OF-SALE SYSTEMS FOR FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGEMENT Contact, Hope Buchanan, Contract Specialist, (210) 652-6932 ext 3128, FAX (210) 652-6309. The Headquarters, Air Force Services Agency (HQ AFSVA), is seeking information on point-of-sales (POS) systems for food and beverage operations. The types of operations include quick service snack bars, cafeteria lines, full service dining, pizza delivery, catering operations and bars. The size and complexity of the properties can vary by location. The configurations will vary from one to many terminals per property. The systems must be configurable from a one terminal to a multi-terminal environment. Cashier and server data entry must be a combination of touch screen, micromotion and handheld terminals with the same configuration. Food and beverage orders will be transmitted to remote printers located throughout the properties. Minimum reporting would include sales by item, sales by server/cashier, sales by day-part, sales by hour, sales by location, open/closed guest checks. Sales data files will be exportable to an ASCII format for easy integration into food and beverage software systems. This request for information (RFI) is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any follow-on acquisitions. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of the RFI or otherwise pay for the information solicited. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this RFI and Government use of such information. To respond, furnish descriptive literature or other data to the AFNAF Purchasing Office no later than 8 May 1995. No response will be forthcoming to the respondents of this notice. This is a nonappropriated fund requirement and does not involve funds of the United States Government. These funds are generated by the military community through sales of goods and services and the collection of fees and charges for participation in military community programs.
