Brush, Jr., 703/607-6196 The Office of The Manager, National Communications System (OMNCS) is responsible for providing its 23 member organizations with information pertaining to the state-of-the-art technologies that are capable of enhancing the United States' national security and emergency preparedness communication functions. Toward this end, the OMNCS is preparing a listing of sources of communications equipment, systems, and research and development with advanced capabilities. Companies in the telecommunications and information systems industries are invited to submit information pertinent to their current and planned products in areas such as asynchronous optical networks (SONET); integrated services digital networks (ISDN); cellular telephones; optical switches; teleconferencing; multi-media transmission, switching, conferencing, and terminals; land based wireless networks; mobile satellite systems; high speed computing; and other emerging advanced technologies. Response to this request should be sent to the address above. Documentation should be concise, 5 pages or less, and address: current products/services; new products/services offered over the past year; new products/services planned for 5 to 10 years from now; and the direction of current/future efforts. This synopsis is a request for information only, and shall not be construed as a request for proposals or bids. No contract is expected to result from this request for information.
