The project consists of demolition of the exterior metal siding, roofing and other structural in Hangar 741 to include removal of ASBESTOS CONTAMINATED MATERIALS and 1,800 CY of debris stockpiled on the hangar floor. Painted metal siding to be removed contains LEAD BASED PAINT. Construction includes replacement of all metal siding and roofing for the 180,000 SF hangar including painting interior surfaces, renovation of restrooms and providing new lighting and ventilation systems. OPTIONAL WORK INCLUDES placement of additional structural members to comply with the South Florida Building Code, repair of damaged hangar bay doors, and providing a lighting protection system.
