COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF APRIL 13,1995 PSA#1324National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Subcontracts Section, M/S
1320-15/2, 1617 Cole Boulevard, Golden, CO 80401-3393 B -- SPECIAL STUDIES AND ANALYSIS - NOT R&D SOL Synopsis No. 5-364.
Contact Helena F. Harman, Subcontract Administrator, 303 275-3168,
Paulette Fontaine-Westhart, Supervisor, Subcontracts Section
303-275-3190. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), formerly
the Solar Energy Research Institute, is the manager of the Solar
Industrial Program for the US Department of Energy. The Solar Process
Heat (SPH) Markets Development Task within the Solar Industrial Program
is planning to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to select
subcontractors to conduct studies to identify and characterize
one-to-three promising current/near-term potential markets for
commercially available SPH systems for applications in American
industry. The emphasis in the studies is to be on marketing research
and markets identification, rather than on solar. Organizations wishing
to respond to the solicitation should have: (i) experience and
expertise in marketing research and/or market identification and/or
markets development; and (ii) familiarity with SPH technology and
expertise in performing solar feasibility assessments (or teamed with
and Architectural and Engineering (A&E) company or consultant having
these capabilities). Marketing research/markets identification
organizations interested in responding to the solicitation that do not
have expertise in SPH technology (all solar collector types) are
welcome to the solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) to get a
listing of solar-qualified A&E firms or consultants. These are A&Es
with which marketing research/markets identification firms might try to
make arrangements for teaming. SEIA (located Washington, DC) is the
professional and trade association for the American SPH industry.
Information on SEIA will be included in the RFP. Parties interested in
receiving a copy of the RFP are requested to write Helena Harman at
the above address or via facsimile at (303)275-3100. Telephone requests
will not be honored. This is not a request for proposals. (100) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0016 19950412\B-0002.SOL)
